April Lockhart

April Lockhart was born on July 4, 1995. When she was in the seventh grade, she started playing guitar and taking piano lessons, sparking her enthusiasm for songwriting. April's very first song was titled Different. It was written when she was 12 years old. She spent lots of the time of 14 writing songs and practicing the music. Soon after she began taking trips to write with father in NY and LA. April started to incorporate different topics that were relevant to the song, such as the Take my Hand song for some acquaintances, including peer pressure issues and suicide among teens. Lockhart has her own following and has a job as an online lifestyle blogger for the renowned Ilia clean beauty brand. It's true that she was born without a left hand, and it creates her unique. It's not the only unique thing about her. Lockhart acknowledges her handicap through her Instagram page, but she doesn't make it the focus of it. The point is? The message is that we are more than only our physical selves. Our identities are intricate and include a myriad of dimensions. Lockhart stated in a video interview that she doesn't wish to be defined solely by her physical disability. She doesn't want to be a disability advocate who focuses on that. There are many aspects of Lockhart. And it doesn't affect my normal life. I just do things normally, and I've discovered ways to manage circumstances. It's a huge aspect of my existence, therefore it's important to talk about it. Self-acceptance is a lifelong marathon however Lockhart is truly an inspiration regarding this issue. Lockhart admits that she goes through phases with regard to her body, feeling uncomfortable in certain clothing which exposed her arms. Today, she wears anything she wants. and she shares her pictures to social media. Self-love, according to her, is a kind of journey. "I doubt you'll ever get in that place," she said. It's a fact that I see with all people, regardless of what their fear may be. The idea of having people around you who really are aware of you and know your feelings is crucial because they'll also be the people that remind you of what are your worries about?
